Alfred Edward Housman (born March 26, 1859 in Bromsgrove, England) was a poet and scholar who was best known for his editions of Roman poets and for his intelligent commentaries. He was also know for his 1896 poem collection, “A Shropshire Lad” and his 1922 poem collection, “Last Poems.” A. E. died on April 30, 1936 and his death was possibly because of natural causes. He died at age 77.
