John Joseph MacGowran (born October 13, 1918 in Dublin Ireland) was a film actor and stage actor who was known for his role as director Burke Dennings in the 1973 horror film, “The Exorcist,” which was his last film role. Jack died on January 30, 1973 and his death was because of complications of influenza resulting from the London flu epidemic. He died too soon at age 54.
