Wolfgang Petersen (born March 14th, 1941 in Emden, Germany) was a Film Director who was best known for being nominated for two Academy Awards for the 1981 movie "Das Boot". Wolfgang died on August 12th, 2022 and his death was due to pancreatic cancer. He was 81.
