Alois Maxwell “Al” Hirt (born November 7, 1922 in New Orleans, Louisiana) was a musician and composer who was best remembered for his million selling of recordings of “Java” and for his 1963 album, “Honey in the Horn.” Al died on April 27, 1999 and his death was because of liver failure which was caused by leg edema. He died at age 76.
