Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

Aleksandr Isayevich Solzhenitsyn (born December 11, 1918 in Kislovodsk, Russia) was a writer, novelist, academic who was best known for being an outspoken critic of communism. He helped to raise awareness of political repression in the Soviet Union. Aleksandr died on August 3, 2008 and his death was because of heart failure. He died at age 89.
