Amelia Mary Earhart (born July 24, 1897 in Atchison, Kansas) was a Notable Person and author who was best known for being the first solo female aviator to fly across the Alantic Ocean. Amelia died on January 5, 1939 and her death was possibly because of an accidental plane crash. She died young at 41 years old..

She disappeared on July 2, 1937 and was declared dead on January 5, 1939.
