Stanley Ann Durham (born November 29, 1942 in Wichita, Kansas) was an anthropologist who was best known for being the mother of Barack Obama and for her work in economic anthropology and rural development of Indonesia. Ann died on November 7, 1995 and her death was because of uterine cancer. She died too soon at age 52.
