Arthur Charles Clarke (born December 16, 1917 in Minehead, United Kingdom) was a writer and inventor who was best known for co-writing the screenplay for the 1968 film, “2001: A Space Odyssey.” Arthur died on March 19, 2008 and his death was because of respiratory failure caused by post-polio syndrome. He died at the respectable age of 90.
