Robert Nesta Marley (born February 6, 1945 in Nine Mile, Jamaica) was a singer-songwriter and musician who was best known for singing music fusing elements of reggae, ska, and rocksteady. He had a distinctive vocal and songwriting style. Bob died on May 11, 1981 and his death was because of melanoma. He died at the young age of just 36.
