Bob Mathias

Robert Bruce Mathias (born November 17, 1930 in Tulare, California) was a politician, Olympian, and film actor who was best known for representing the state of California as a Congressman for four terms from 1967 to 1975. He was previously an Olympic athlete known for winning a decathlon at the age of 17 in 1948. Bob died on September 2, 2006 and his death was because of cancer. He died at age 75.
