Bowie Kent Kuhn (born October 26, 1926 in Takoma Park, Maryland) was a lawyer and sportscaster who was best known for serving as the fifth Commissioner of the American, Major League Baseball from February 4, 1969, to September 30, 1984 and before that, he was lead legal counsel for Major League Baseball owners for almost 20 years. Bowie died on March 15, 2007 and his death was because of complications from pneumonia. He died at age 80.
