Lecil Travis Martin aka Boxcar Willie (born September 1, 1931 in Ovilla, Texas) was a singer-songwriter and musician who was best known for singing “old-time hobo” style music. He appeared on stage in character, complete with overalls, and a floppy hat. Lecil died on April 12, 1999 and his death was because of leukemia. He died quite soon at age 67.
