Robert Emil Schmidt aka Buffalo Bob Smith (born November 27, 1917 in Buffalo, New York) was a TV personality and puppeteer who was best known for his persona as Buffalo Bob who was the host of the 1947-1960 children’s show, “Howdy Doody.” Bob died on July 30, 1998 and his death was because of cancer. He died at age 80.
