Burl Icle Ivanhoe Ives (born June 14, 1909 in Hunt City, Illinois) was a musician, film actor, and author who was best known for his two Christmas songs, “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and “Frosty the Snowman.” He also launched his own radio show, “The Wayfaring Stranger.” Burl died on April 14, 1995 and his death was because of oral cancer. He died at age 85.
