Carl Rowan

Carl Thomas Rowan (born August 11, 1925 in Ravenscroft, Tennessee) was a journalist, author, and civil servant who was best known for publishing columns syndicated across the U.S and for being the highest ranking African American in the United States government. Carl died on September 23, 2000 and his death was because of heart disease and kidney disease. He died at age 75.
