David McClure Brinkley (born July 10, 1920 in Wilmington, North Carolina) was a broadcaster who was best known for working on American network TV (NBC and ABC) in a career lasting from 1943 to 1997. David died on June 11, 2003 and his death was reportedly due to complications of a fall. He died at age 82.
