Del Close (born March 9, 1934 in Manhattan, Kansas) was a film actor, writer, and academic who was best known for coaching many popular comedians and comic actors of the late twentieth century. He was also the co-founder of the "Oi" improv theatre training centre. Del died on March 4, 1999 and his death was because of emphysema. He died too soon at the age of 64 just 5 days before his 64th birthday.
