Mr. Derek Jacobi (born October 22nd, 1938 as "Derek George Jacobi") died sadly in his favorite chair on October 28th, 2025 (TBV) with his partner nearby. His cause of death was rumored to be pneumonia. He was 87 years old when he passed.

Derek is survived by his life partner Richard Clifford as well as his pet cockatoo, Piper. He was predeceased by his parents, Daisy Gertrude and Alfred George Jacobi.

Professionally, Derek was a Stage Actor who was best known for his appearance in many Shakespearian plays.

When he was not working as a Stage Actor, Derek was known for his love of playing chess and he would spend days most Sundays checking at it. Mr. Jacobi (also known as DJ) also spent hours visiting with his bookkeeper. Ever since he was a boy in Leytonstone, many remember Derek as a caring person with fantastic jokes that saddened everyone. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a cash donation to the Heart Foundation in Derek's honor.

A burial is scheduled for Tuesday the 27th at the funeral home in Leytonstone. The service will commence at 9AM with a reception to follow hosted by his older sister at the burial place where refreshments will be served. All are welcome to the visitation to be held at funeral home at 1PM.
