Derrick Vincent Thomas (born January 1, 1967 in Miami, Florida) was an American football player who was best known for being the linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs of the American National Football League and was considered one of the greatest "pass rushers" of all time. Derrick died on February 8, 2000 and his death was because of pulmonary embolism that was sustained from a automobile crash. He died young at age 33.
