Mr. Ed Asner (born November 15th, 1929 as "Eddie Asner") died peacefully at his home on August 29th, 2021 with his family at hand. His cause of death was rumored to be old age. He was 91 years old when he passed on.
Eddie is survived by his ex wife Cindy Gilmore, his children, sons Matthew Asner, Charles Asner, daughters Liza Asner and Kate Asner as well as his pet puppy, Piper. He was predeceased by his parents, Lizzie Asner and Morris David Asner.
Professionally, Eddie was a TV Actor who was best known for his role as the gruff TV producer, Lou Grant on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" with Mary Tyler Moore and its spinoff series, "Lou Grant".
When he was not working as a TV Actor, Eddie was known for his love of reading fiction and he would spend hours most afternoons engrossed in a book. Mr. Asner (also known as Yitzhak Edward Asner) also spent ages visiting with his older sister most weeks when he was able to spare a bunch of hours. Ever since he was a boy in Kansas City, many remember Eddie as a caring person with wonderful magic tricks that shocked everyone. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a heartfelt donation to the Heart Foundation in Eddie's honor.
A wake was scheduled for at the church in Kansas City. The service will commence at 2PM with a reception to follow hosted by his older sister at the graveside where refreshments will be served. All are welcome to the visitation to be held at church at noon.
