Sir Edmund Percival Hillary (born July 20, 1919 in Auckland, New Zealand) was a notable person, explorer and philanthropist who was best known for being one of the first climbers to reach the summit of Mount Everest along with Tenzing Norgay. Edmund died on January 11, 2008 and his death was because of heart failure. He died at age 88.
