Edna Hicks (born October 14, 1895 in New Orleans, Louisiana) was a singer and musician who was best known for recording the songs "Hard Luck Blues,” "Poor Me Blues", "Down Hearted Blues,” and "Gulf Coast Blues.” Edna died on August 16, 1925 and her death was because she was accidentally burned after splashed gasoline was ignited by a candle she was holding. She died at the tender age of 29.
