Esther Pauline “Eppie” Lederer (born July 4, 1918 in Sioux City, Iowa) was a journalist and writer who was best known for writing the "Ask Ann Landers" advice column in 1955. Her column ran for 47 years. Eppie died on June 22, 2002 and her death was because of multiple myeloma. She died at age 83 just two weeks before her 84th birthday.
