Jamesetta Hawkins (born January 25, 1938 in Los Angeles, California) was a singer who was best known for singing in various genres, including gospel, blues, jazz, R&B, rock and roll, and soul. Etta died on January 20, 2012 and her death was because of leukemia. She died at age 73 just five days before her 74th birthday.
