Franz Kafka (born July 3, 1883 in Prague, Czech Republic) was a novelist and writer who was best known as a major figure of 20th-century literature and also for his work that fuses elements of realism and the fantastic. Franz died on June 3, 1924 and his death was reportedly because of tuberculosis. He died young at age 40 just one month before his 41st birthday.
