Gabriel José de la Concordia García Márquez (born March 6, 1927 in Aracataca, Colombia) was a novelist, screenwriter, and journalist who was best known for being a considered as one of the most significant authors of the 20th century in the Spanish language and for being awarded the 1972 Neustadt International Prize for Literature and the 1982 Nobel Prize in Literature. Gabriel died on April 17, 2014 and his death was because of pneumonia. He died at age 87.
