Giovanni Maria "Gianni" Versace (born December 2, 1946 in Reggio Calabria, Italy) was a fashion designer, socialite, and businessperson who was best known for being the founder of the brand "Versace", which is an international luxury-fashion house that produces accessories, fragrances, make-up, home furnishings and clothes. Gianni died on July 15, 1997 and his death was because he was shot by serial killer Andrew Cunanan. He died too soon at age 50.
