Hank Ballard (born November 18, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan) was a singer-songwriter who was best known for being the lead vocalist of the American vocal group "The Midnighters" being one of the first rock and roll artists in the early 1950s. Hank died on March 2, 2003 and his death was because of throat cancer. He died in his palatial home at age 75.
