Howard Jerome Morris (born September 4, 1919 in The Bronx, New York) was a TV actor, film actor, and comedian who was best known for his role as Ernest T. Bass in 1960s sitcom, “The Andy Griffith Show,” and as Uncle Goopy in the celebrated comedy sketch on, “Your Show of Shows”. Howard died on May 21, 2005 and his death was because of congestive heart failure. He died at age 85.
