John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (born January 3, 1892 in Bloemfontein, South Africa) was a writer, poet, and academic who was best known for his works “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings.” J. R. R. died on September 2, 1973 and his death was because of a stomach ulcer and a chest infection. He died at age 81.
