Jacques-Yves Cousteau (born June 11, 1910 in Saint-André-de-Cubzac, France) was a scholar, filmmaker, and author who was best known for co-inventing the first open-circuit SCUBA set and made an assortment of the first underwater documentaries. Jacques died on June 25, 1997 and his death was because of a heart attack. He died two weeks after his 87th birthday.
