James Allen Whitmore Jr. (born October 1, 1921 in White Plains, New York) was a film actor who was best known for receiving numerous accolades for his TV and movie work. They included, a Golden Globe, a Grammy, a Primetime Emmy, a Theatre World, and a Tony Award, and two Academy Award nominations. James died on February 6, 2009 and his death was because of lung cancer. He died at age 87.
