James Arthur Baldwin (born August 2, 1924 in New York City, New York) was a writer, novelist, and activist who was best known for first written 1953 novel, “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” which was on the list of 100 best English-language novels. James died on December 1, 1987 and his death was because of stomach cancer. He died quite soon at age 63.
