James Burke (born July 5, 1931 in New York City, New York) was a criminal who was best known for being a gangster that was an associate of the Lucchese crime family and who is believed to have organized the 1978 Lufthansa heist, which was a robbery that took place John F. Kennedy International Airport. James died on April 13, 1996 and his death was because of cancer. He died in prison age 64.
