James Augustine Aloysius Joyce (born February 2, 1882 in Dublin, Ireland) was a novelist and poet who was best known for being one of the most influential and important writers of the 20th century including his 1922 modernist novel, “Ulysses.” James died on January 13, 1941 and his death was because of a perforated duodenal stomach ulcer. He died too soon at age 58.
