Janice Marian Berenstain (born July 26, 1923 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) was an author, writer, and cartoonist who was best known for being the co-creator of the children’s books series, “The Berenstain Bears”, alongside her husband Stan Berenstain. Jan died on February 24, 2012 and her death was because of a stroke. She died at age 88.
