Jeanne Eagels (born June 26, 1890 in Kansas City, Missouri) was a film actress and stage actress who was best known for academy award winning role as Leslie Crosby in the 1929 silent film, “The Letter.” Jeanne died on October 3, 1929 and her death was reportedly because of a drug overdose. She died very young at just 39.
