Jerry Laymon Falwell Sr. (born August 11, 1933 in Lynchburg, Virginia) was a clergy and activist who was best known for being the founding pastor of the Thomas Road Baptist Church, which is a megachurch in Lynchburg, Virginia. Jerry died on May 15, 2007 and his death was reportedly because of cardiac arrhythmia. He died at age 73.
