Joseph Paul DiMaggio (born November 25, 1914 in Martinez, California) was a baseball player who was best known for playing center fielder in Major League Baseball for the New York Yankees form 1936 to 1951 and for having the record of the longest hitting streak in baseball. Joe died on March 8, 1999 and his death was because of complications from lung cancer surgery. He died at age 84.
