John Keith Vernon (born February 24, 1932 in Zehner, Saskatchewan) was a film actor who was best known for his roles as Dean Wormer in the 1978 American comedy film, “Animal House,” the Mayor in the 1971 action thriller film, “Dirty Harry” and Fletcher in the 1976 western film, “The Outlaw Josey Wales.” John died on February 1, 2005 and his death was because of complications of heart surgery. He died at age 72.
