John Wayne Gacy (born March 17, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois) was a criminal who was best known for being a serial killer and sex offender. He raped, tortured, and murdered 33 young men and boys in the Chicago area. Gacy performed as "Pogo the Clown" or "Patches the Clown” at children's hospitals and charitable events where he met his victims. John died on May 10, 1994 and his death was because he was executed by lethal injection. He was executed at age 52.
