Judith Ortiz Cofer (born February 24, 1952 in Hormigueros, Puerto Rico) was an author who was best known for her range of literary genres including poetry, short stories, autobiographies, essays, and young adult fiction. Judith died on December 30, 2016 and her death was because of liver cancer. She died quite soon at age 64.
