Jules Gabriel Verne (born February 8, 1828 in Nantes, France) was a novelist, poet, and playwright who was best known for writing his popular adventure novels “Journey to the Center of the Earth” (1864), “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas” (1870). He was also the author of the 1872 novel, “Around the World in Eighty Days”. Jules died on March 24, 1905 and his death was because of a stroke caused by complications of diabetes. He died at age 77.
