LaVerne Sophia Andrews (born July 6, 1911 in Minneapolis, Minnesota) was a singer who was best known for being the contralto singing voice of the close harmony singing group, “The Andrews Sisters” along with her sisters Maxene Andrews and Patty Andrews. LaVerne died on May 8, 1967 and her death was because of liver cancer. She died too soon at age 55.
