LaWanda Page (born October 19, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio) was a TV actress, comedian, and dancer who was best known for being crowned “The Queen of Comedy” or “The Black Queen of Comedy.” She was also known for her role “Aunt” Esther Anderson on the 1970’s American TV sitcom, “Sanford and Son” including its short lived spinoff shows “Sanford Arms” and “Sanford.” LaWanda died on September 14, 2002 and her death was because of a heart attack due to complications from diabetes. She died at age 81.
