Walter Lane Smith II (born April 29, 1936 in Memphis, Tennessee) was a film actor and TV actor who was best known for his role as newspaper editor Perry White in the American TV series "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman". Lane died on June 13, 2005 and his death was because of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. He died at age 69.
