Laura Nyro (born October 18, 1947 in The Bronx, New York) was a singer-songwriter, composer, and music producer who was best known for her 1969 song “Eli’s Coming,” her 1968 song “Stoned Soul Picnic,” her 1967 song “Wedding Blue Bells” and her 1968 song “And When I Die.” Laura died on April 8, 1997 and her death was because of ovarian cancer. She died way too young at age 49.
