Lew Burr Anderson (born May 7, 1922 in Kirkman, Iowa) was a TV actor and musician who was best known for being portraying Clarabell the Clown on the American TV program "Howdy Doody" between 1954 and 1960. Lew died on May 14, 2006 and his death was because of prostate cancer. He died a week after his 84th birthday.
