Lionel Hampton

Lionel Leo Hampton (born April 20, 1908 in Louisville, Kentucky) was a musician and composer who was best known for introducing the vibraphone to jazz and for writing more than 200 songs throughout his career. Lionel died on August 31, 2002 and his death was because of congestive heart failure. He eventually passed away at age 94.
