Professionally, McLean was a TV Actor who was best known for his role as Lt. Colonel Henry Blake in the popular American TV series M*A*S*H.

When he was not working as a TV Actor, McLean was known for his love of birding and he would spend minutes most Mondays polishing it. Mr. Stevenson (the deceased) also spent decades visiting with his older sister most Thursdays when he was able to spare a small number of minutes. Ever since he was a boy in Normal, many remember McLean as a bit of a curmudgeon with funny practical jokes that impressed everyone.
